“Morning in America,” it ain’t. Reagan’s ‘shining city on a hill’ is a Babylonian dystopia of a dumpster fire of a zombie apocalypse. Donald ‘Antichrist’ Trump:
“What kind of person can charge another person, in this case a former President of the United States, who got more votes than any sitting President in history, and leading candidate (by far!) for the Republican Party nomination, with a Crime, when it is known by all that NO Crime has been committed, & also known that potential death & destruction in such a false charge could be catastrophic for our Country?” he wrote.
“Why & who would do such a thing? Only a degenerate psychopath that truely [sic] hates the USA!”
Like most current Republican politicians, Antichrist T displays a remarkable flair for projection/self-description... it’s almost as if they are accusing others of exactly what they are doing. Some fuddy-duddies in DC are accusing T of crimes, can you imagine?
“Threatening a prosecutor is a crime in NY. In fact MULTIPLE crimes,” Norm Eisen, counsel for Democrats in Trump’s first impeachment, wrote on Twitter. Eisen pointed to several statutes in particular, including harassment, menacing and stalking. “
But Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) deflected questions about Trump’s “death and destruction” remarks, and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), a close Trump ally, told an NBC reporter that he couldn’t read the comments without his glasses.
While House Majority Leader Steve Scalise (R-La.) explained, “I haven’t seen those statements.” Those poor men—no wonder they are stumbling and flailing and failing to achieve anything whatsoever, so severely handicapped and bereft of the most basic information/intelligence.
But Rep. Pete Sessions [R-TX 17] didn’t mind at all about that ‘incitement to violence’ nonsense, and urged everyone to just come on down to the DeathCultfest, especially families. Because you know how concerned MAGAts are about exposing little children to harmful influences— like puppet shows, naked statues, and books—and this is so dang wholesome. Admitted sexual predator, Ted Nugent, who openly brags about having having sex with little girls, will provide family entertainment.
“Sessions encourages everyone to come out.”
The date, anniversary celebration of a bloody religious cult standoff that killed almost 100 people, was fine with Pete, too. However, in an editorial, the Houston Chronicle said the decision to host the event in Waco during the anniversary of the Waco siege represented far more than a dog-whistle message to far-right and conspiratorial Trump supporters.
"The more apt metaphor is the blaring air horn of a Mack 18-wheeler barreling down I-10," the newspaper said, adding that Waco had become "a shrine for the Proud Boys, the Three Percenters, the Oath Keepers and other anti-government extremists and conspiracists."
This is where Il Dolt strategists carefully selected to hold the first campaign rally for his 2nd presidential run, as a symbol to supporters of all the evils he so proudly stands for.
But how did we get here, to this sordid, shameful and pitiful place in American history?
Recall that Ronald Reagan chose the Neshoba County Fair, on August 3, 1980, to give a speech on ‘states' rights’ —near the site of the 1964 murders of young civil rights activists, Chaney, Goodman, and Schwerner. ‘States' rights’ had for decades been a rallying slogan for racial segregationists and the use of the phrase was a tacit appeal to Southern white voters and a continuation of Richard Nixon's Southern strategy. The core message, as today, was Reagan’s hatred and hostility toward the US government, the institution he was swearing to protect and defend.
Today, the Party rips another page out of that tired old civil war playbook. They hate “government”— SO MUCH except when they want to use it to force their agenda/religion/”values” [I use the term loosely] on you.
This hot mess didn’t start with Dolt, it’s been a long time coming. But he is the culmination of many years of fascist tap dancing come to fruition.
Yep, yep, yep, we can describe this horror creatively, we can channel Stephen King and HG Wells and William Golding, we can reach into the depths of hell and the wall of absurdity, and still we cannot adequately capture all that has befallen this country, the Upside Down, sideways and deformed.
We are in the dented collection of the sale racks of countries.
